We want you to feel completely confident that 11 Acres is the right place for your dog.
Below are the most common questions we get, if there’s anything else you'd like to know, please get in touch.
How does membership work?
Dogs attend on the same set day or days each week through a monthly membership.
This guarantees your dog’s place within a consistent group and allows them to build familiarity, routine, and real social understanding over time.
It’s not a drop-in service and that’s a key part of why it works.
How do you ensure the dogs are safe?
For the safety of all dogs in our care, we are extremely strict and only accept social well-mannered dogs.
Every dog completes pre-daycare application form and attends an initial assessment one-on-one before joining.
Groups are limited to a maximum of 10 dogs per day, allowing full awareness, supervision, and control at all times.
Will my dog be off lead?
Yes.
All dogs work towards being off lead within the environment.
This is made possible through structured training, small consistent groups, and careful management.
At what age can dogs attend?
We accept dogs from 6 months onwards.
Puppies benefit from learning alongside older, more stable dogs, while older dogs have their day adjusted to suit their energy levels.
What areas do you cover?
We cover Malpas, Threapwood, Worthenbury and some surrounding villages.
If you’re unsure, just ask!
Will my dog come home dirty?
Dogs are given the freedom to explore and engage with the environment, which definitely includes mud and water in winter.
Every dog is washed-down in our showering area and we will always send dogs home as clean as reasonably possible — but a happy dog isn’t always a spotless one.
Is 11 Acres right for every dog?
No — and that’s intentional.
We only accept dogs that are suited to a structured group environment.
This allows us to maintain the calm, balanced atmosphere that makes 11 Acres what it is.
Do dogs need to be neutered / spayed?
All adult dogs must be spayed or neutered after 1st season (females) and 18 months (males).
We class all dogs of 18 months as an adult.
Why is a minimum of one day per week required?
Consistency is what allows dogs to settle, learn, and develop properly.
Seeing the same dogs each week creates a calm, predictable environment where behaviour improves naturally over time.
Without this, dogs never get into a routine, which leads to over-arousal, instability, and poor socialisation.
Does my dog need to be trained before joining?
No.
Dogs don’t need to arrive fully trained but they do need to be suitable for a group environment.
We build key behaviours within the day, including recall, impulse control, and calmness around other dogs.
We also like to work with you, keeping an open communication regarding your dog's development and progress, working with you on any specific behaviours you are targeting in your training at home.
It is expected that you will work together with us to manage any behaviours.
How do you manage group behaviour?
The group dynamic is central to why we are so successful.
Dogs attend regularly, meaning they know each other and understand the environment.
This allows us to maintain a calm, controlled dynamic, rather than constant high-energy or chaotic play.
Daily training helps to regulate the dogs behaviours, ensuring a safe group at all times.
Do you offer collection and drop-off?
Yes.
All dogs are collected and returned home in our purpose-built vehicle.
Most clients provide access to their home, making the process simple and stress-free.
What happens in bad weather?
We operate all year round.
Dogs have access to outdoor space regardless of weather, alongside our clubhouse which provides shelter, warmth, and a place to rest.
Most dogs thrive in all conditions — but they always have the option to settle inside.
Are you insured and qualified?
Yes.
We are fully insured and operate in line with the DEFRA Animal Establishment licensing standards.
We hold relevant qualifications in dog behaviour, daycare management, and canine first aid, and continue to develop through ongoing education.
Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
Yes, we operate with an online software where all of your dog’s vaccination records are kept.
To comply with licensing requirements for our daycare, it is essential that all dogs attending are fully vaccinated.
